GIS Award 2020: Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of UIGM Receives GIS Influencer Award

The 2020 GIS Award initiated by Enviromental Systems Research Instite (ESRI) chose Indo Global Mandiri University (UIGM) Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Sumi Amariena Hamim, ST, M.T., IPM, ASEAN Eng as a GIS Influencer in the ambassador award at the award ceremony entitled ESRI GIS Award for Education, Thursday (17/12/2020).
“GIS Influencer is given to lecturers or academicians who actively provide knowledge of the use of GIS to the public through social media and their connections, so as to increase public understanding of the use of GIS in various sectors,” said Sumi Amariena Hamim, Tuesday (22/12/2020).
This award was followed by all universities both public and private in Indonesia, and Indo Global Mandiri University (UIGM) was one of them to get this special award.
“Special awards are also given to 2 lecturers who not only provide information, but also take more direct and technical action into research and exploration of the use of GIS in various sectors to help the local government around them,” she explained.
ESRI’s education and community program will continue to develop its program and strive for universities and communities to innovate and revolutionize various world problems based on geospatial technology.
Through partnerships with leading educational institutions across the country, Esri Indonesia’s programs are designed to support educators, researchers, and universities in developing sustainable GIS programs. (andhiko ta/sapta mh)
