Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) University has once again strengthened its commitment to advancing the world of education by organizing the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SMK N 1 Sungai Lilin and SMK N 6 Palembang.
Head of the Public Relations and Promotion Bureau of IGM University, Dr. Hj. Tien Yustini, S.E., M.Si, revealed that this collaboration opens up wider collaboration opportunities, especially in the context of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). The MBKM program initiated by the Ministry of Education and Culture allows various educational institutions to work together in sharing resources, knowledge, and wider access to the world of work.
“With MBKM, there are many programs that we can collaborate on, including reciprocal visits and knowledge exchange programs that will benefit both parties,” said Dr. Tien Yustini in front of hundreds of students who filled the Theater Building C of Sudirman Campus, Monday (21/10).
Dean of FIPB IGM University, Dr. Doris Febriyanti, M.Si emphasized the importance of this collaboration as an effort to provide wider access to vocational students regarding the latest knowledge and technology. “We want to provide access to SMK students so that they can gain relevant knowledge and skills, especially in fields that are directly related to industry and the world of work,” explained Dr. Doris.
According to her, IGM University has a program to prepare the younger generation to face the world of work. This collaboration is expected to strengthen industrial practices, internship programs, and practical management to prepare vocational students to be better prepared for the demands of the professional world.
