The Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) has welcomed 24 new students who successfully passed the competitive selection process in this year’s admission.
dr. Nuke Hatta, M.Sc., one of the lecturer from Faculty of Medicine , stated that the selection process was designed with multiple steps to ensure the readiness and commitment of the students, along with the support of their parents.
The selection began with the administrative document submission, where applicants meeting the administrative requirements were then invited to take a Computer-Based Test (CBT). CBT results were evaluated based on ranking and a set passing grade. Those who advanced past this stage then underwent a physical examination and mental health assessment, key components in evaluating their preparedness for the challenges of medical education.
According to dr. Hatta, beyond academic competence, the faculty aims to ensure that students have full support from their families, especially their parents. “We invite parents to be present during the final interview session to find out their commitment to supporting their childrens medical education,” she explained.
The purpose of this interview is to assess the extent to which families understand and are prepared to support the long journey their children will undertake in medical school. The interview results are crucial, as it is through this process that we determine whether parents are genuinely ready to provide full trust and support for their childrens medical studies at UIGM, added dr. Nuke Hatta.
With 24 new students admitted, UIGMs Faculty of Medicine will soon hold the Campus Life Orientation Program for New Students (PKKMB), as the first step in their academic journey.
