Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) of South Sumatra as well as the opening of the South Sumatra Architecture Festival (SSAF) 2023, Friday (27/1/2023).
The MoU is related to the architectural profession’s teaching staff. Architect Professional Education Programme (PPA) was carried out directly by the Rector of Universitas IGM, Dr. H Marzuki Alie, and the Chairman of South Sumatera IAI, Ar. Ahmad Ardani and Member of the National IAI Honorary Council Ir Zuber Angkasa and General Chairmanof IAI Georgius Budiyulianto.
Some important points are contained in the MoU and MoA in the form of human capital development, educational development programs, and others.
According to Ir Zuber Angkasa, a National IAI Honorary Board member, his party will continue to promote the recognition and development of the architectural profession.
With this collaboration, we believe we can pace graduate architects’ progress into professionals. He explained that anyone, whether an architect graduate from Unsri or another university, can continue to PPA.
Chairman of South Sumatera IAI Ar. Ahmad Ardani, MT, IAI., said that every undergraduate who has just graduated from a university or college must take an architectural certification (STRA = architect registration certificate).
He said freshly graduated architecture students must take one year of professional education and two years of internship to obtain a license.
The IAI currently has 23,519 members spread throughout Indonesia and will continue to grow. The IAI was officially founded on September 17, 1959, in Bandung and has existed for 63 years. (andhiko tungga alam/dzulfiqor ammar)
